YouTube

I read and article called “103 Blog Post Ideas”. Why 103? I don’t know. One of the questions was “What are your favorite YouTube channels and why?”. We already know how obsessed I am with YouTube and several creators online. But maybe you don’t know why that is. I promise there is a deep significance in my love for the creators I follow. I did share why YouTube is important to me in my Mamrie Hart post. See here for that story. But, I thought I’d break it down and tell you some amazing YouTubers I’ve found that have really be significant in keeping me laughing through tough times.

Mamrie Hart- Creator/actor/comedian in You Deserve a Drink, Dirty Thirty, Camp Takota, This Might Get…, and author of “You Deserve a Drink” and “I’ve Got This Round”. I recommend checking ALL of those out. Also a fellow vegan. I’m a huge Mamrie fan. In fact she is my favorite person on the internet.

Grace Helbig- Creator/actor/comedian on her YouTube channel, Dirty Thirty, Camp Takota, This Might Get, and Electra Woman and Dyna Girl. Author of two hilarious books: Grace’s Guide and Grace & Style. I just discovered today that she will be taking a break from her channel for awhile. I am super advocate of self-care (the reason she is taking a break), but she will absolutely be missed.

Hannah Hart- Creator, actor, comedian in My Drunk Kitchen, Dirty Thirty, Camp Takota, and Electra Woman and Dyna Girl. Author of My Drunk Kitchen and Buffering. Buffering is the truest reason I pulled myself out of a depression and decided to “be happy”. It was the first book I read in the New Year 2017. I met her at Pride and can attest to the kindness and care she shows her fans. Such a wonderful person.

Lilly Singh- Do I even need to explain this? You all know how much I admire Lilly Singh’s drive and determination. She motivates me to get out of bed some mornings. She is plastered all over my vision board. And, like her obsession for Dwayne the Rock Johnson, I find inspiration in the way she lives and conquers her life. Actor and creator in her daily vlogs and videos, she is also a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador, creator of Girl Love (an organization that helps girls gain access to education), and author of How to Be a Bawse. I could go on and on about Lilly’s hustle, drive, and accomplishments. She is an amazing person and someone I hope to meet one day.

Nikki Limo- creator of Tasty Tuesday and Thirsty Thursday on her channel. She has also released a line of jewelry. I may or may not own several of those pieces and I’m so sad I don’t have the money right now for her “Fuck Perfect” necklace. I can’t remember how I found out about Nikki and I’m surprised she doesn’t have more followers. She has spoken openly about mental health which I personally appreciate and produces quality and hilarious content.

Jenna Marbles- creator on her channel for what I believe to be over 8 years, she is someone I just found out about. She is absolutely hilarious and I’m bummed I didn’t discover her earlier. She has 3 dogs that keep her channel fresh and funny. I especially love the Halloween vlogs as she will dress up her dogs (or herself) in creative and, “I promise you’ll laugh” costumes. I’ve only started watching her videos over the last couple weeks. With the tons of videos she has created I have a lot to catch up on!

There you have it. A list that you didn’t ask for, but made me happy to write. I often wish I had someone who shared my love for these YouTubers. I highly recommend watching any videos by these creators. I’ll leave links below to their channels.

Thanks for humoring me today.
